The texts in this anthology formed the basis of readings performed between the 3rd and 4th of September, 2014, on a visit first to the Château de Saumane, then to the Château de Lacoste, both of which lie in the Vaucluse department of the southeast of France, 20 and 30 kilometres, respectively, east of Avignon. This issue of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice has been published to mark the 200th anniversary of the death of the Marquis de Sade on the 2nd of December, 1814.
